SBP is proud to announce that Liz McCartney, Director of Development and co-founder, has been awarded an Urban Innovator Fellowship at Tulane University. Liz will spend the next year helping SBP scale and replicate its operations under the guidance of Dr. John Elstrott, the Executive Director of the Levy-Rosenblum Institute for Entrepreneurship at Tulane University’s Freeman School of Business.
Liz is excited work with Dr. Elstrott to strengthen SBP’s operations, programs, communications and resource development. The goal is to help SBP scale its efforts — in both affordable housing development and mental health services — by incorporating best practices in management, program development, communications, fundraising and organizational development. With support from Tulane and Dr. Elstrott, SBP is poised to effect system-level change in New Orleans and become a new national model to help communities recover from the impact of man made, natural and economic disasters.
