St. Bernard Project and UPS invite you to celebrate the homecoming of Mr. James ‘Jimmy’ Stroder on June 7th at 5 PM at 1321 St. Maurice, NOLA. As part of a skill-based partnership, UPS loaned SBP an executive who has helped our team solve some important logistical challenges. Thanks to this program, SBP has:
- corrected, standardized, and documented procurement process,
- implemented a fuel management system,
- organized new financial tracking and accountability system,
- introduced vehicle maintenance schedule, and
- improved construction management processes and accountability.
UPS will make a special announcement at Mr. Stroder’s homecoming party – you won’t want to miss it!
Please RSVP by emailing adrian.cohn@stbernardproject.org.
Jimmy Stroder is a life-long resident of New Orleans with five children, numerous grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren. Jimmy lived in Houston after Katrina, where he managed a Men’s Warehouse distribution center. He has tried hard to come back because, as he says, “There’s no place like New Orleans.” After a thirty year career building homes for others, however, his efforts to rebuild his own home were hampered by fraudulent contractors. Construction on Mr. Stroder’s Ninth Ward home finished this spring, and he has finally moved home almost seven years after the storm. Join us on June 7 for this very special Welcome Home Party.
