St. Bernard Project

Rebuilding the Homes and Lives of Katrina Survivors

AmeriCorps

Bring Families Impacted By Hurricane Katrina Back Home, Join SBP’s AmeriCorps Team.

Thank you for your interest in joining St Bernard Project.

SBP is building a movement to solve the affordable housing crisis in the Greater New Orleans area.  By enlisting passionate people from across the globe to join our work, we have made significant strides towards rebuilding and restoring our community. Despite the progress we have achieved, there are many lingering barriers keeping individuals and families from returning to their homes. Since the need is so great, we as an organization need to be as efficient as possible. SBP is committed to becoming the new model for post-disaster rebuilding and truly affordable housing in communities impacted by manmade, natural and economic disasters.

With your help, we can do the right thing for families living in the Greater New Orleans area by creating a stronger, more vibrant community. Come be an integral part of this movement and participate in the rebirth of New Orleans.

Application Process:

SBP uses a three stage interview process:

1) Receipt of application materials (AmeriCorps application, Cover letter, Resume)
2) First round interview
3) Second round interview

Through this three part process, we strive to identify your strengths and areas of best fit within SBP.  We also aim to give you a good sense of what it means to be a member of the SBP team so that you can reflect upon whether you are up to the challenge of serving with SBP.

To begin this process, you will need to submit a tailored resume and cover letter that clearly identifies why you are interested in serving with St Bernard Project , your relevant skills and experience and the position(s) that you are applying for. Application materials should be emailed to joinsbp@stbernardproject.org. You will also need to submit an application via the AmeriCorps website at  https://my.americorps.gov/mp/listing/viewListing.do?fromSearch=true&id=34651).
Upon receipt of your application materials, you will be notified as to whether or not you will be invited for a first round interview within 1 week.
