On behalf of the St. Bernard Project and the clients we serve, we thank you for your generous contribution. With support from donors like you, our Rebuilding Program has rebuilt the homes of more than 470 families since 2006, and another 15-20 homes are under construction. Our waiting list is dauntingly full and the challenges are many, but we are determined to finish the job in the New Orleans area.

We have also had notable achievements serving our community through several other programs launched in recent years. Our Opportunity Housing Program was launched to redevelop blighted properties and provide affordable homeownership opportunities to low-income families, and we have successfully completed more than a dozen homes so far. Finally, in 2011 we launched our Good Work Good Pay program to hire wounded soldiers and veterans for living-wage construction jobs. Through this program we have hired more than 20 local veterans and significantly increased the pace at which we can rebuild homes.

We are committed to completing the recovery in New Orleans, and equally so to sharing our model and best practices with other disaster-impacted communities. We operate Rebuild Joplin, in Missouri, and have expanded our services to Plaquemines and St. John Parishes here in Louisiana, where more than 8,000 homes were flooded by Hurricane Isaac.

We are also working in New York and New Jersey to help communities impacted by Superstorm Sandy find a prompt, clear and predictable path to recovery. Your investment in SBP has a direct impact on disaster recovery across the country.

While we are proud of these accomplishments, much work remains.  Seven years after Hurricane Katrina, there are still thousands of families who own homes they cannot afford to rebuild.  With your help we can get these families home.

We have a large cadre of caring and committed people around the country who are making a significant impact and we are grateful that you are part of this dedicated group of supporters. Thank you again for your commitment and partnership.  Your support and energy drives us each and every day as we continue to rebuild and bring people home.
