Be a part of the solution. Join the 50,000+ volunteers who have rebuilt more than 475 families’ homes. The need is still great in St. Bernard and Orleans Parishes as thousands of families cannot afford to rebuild their homes.

How much of an impact can one volunteer make?

In one day a St. Bernard Project volunteer without previous construction experience can

  • Mud/spackle in several rooms
  • Install a new floor
  • Paint a small house

Now that you know what can be done in a day, imagine what could be done in two days. One week. Two weeks. One month. Double that if you bring a friend or multiply it by the size of your team.

What will I do as a volunteer?

You will literally help rebuild a family’s home. This may include hanging insulation or drywall, mudding/spackling, sanding, texturing, priming, painting, laying floors, and/or hanging trim, doors and baseboard. If you have significant experience in any of these areas or in framing, electrical, plumbing and/or cabinetry, please inform the Volunteer Department prior to your arrival so that we can assign you to a specialty team.

Why Volunteer? We’re All In This Together

Spring Break – Special Notice

If you are registering a Spring Break group (March 4th – April 12th), you should expect to work from 7AM-1PM or 1PM-7PM.  When registering your group, please indicate which shift you would prefer.  We will do our best to accommodate your request. Groups are limited to 15 people due to the high level of interest we receive from groups during Spring Break.

SBP charges $50 per volunteer during Spring Break.  More than 130 families are on SBP’s wait list.  In order to move these families home promptly, SBP requires your support.  This donation helps SBP increase the number of homes that we are working on during Spring Break so that we can accept as many volunteers as possible. Funding is currently our biggest barrier to engaging additional volunteers and beginning construction on our clients’ homes. You can deepen the impact that you will have on the lives of our clients by raising funds as you plan your volunteer trip. SBP’s Development Team would love to work with you to create a customized fundraising campaign that your friends, family and coworkers will be excited to support.
