Here are some ideas to help raise money and
spread the word:
❄ In Lieu of Gifts:
❄ Instead of your company giving gifts to staff and clients, consider donating money to rebuild a home
❄ Make a donation in the name of a friend or relative that supports the mission of SBP
❄ Send a card to let your friend or client know about your generous donation! Learn more about making ‘in lieu of’ gifts here.
❄ Download our holiday donation letter (coming soon) to send out:
❄ Mail or email the letter to family or friends
❄ Consider sending the letter to business owners that you know who might be interested in supporting SBP
❄ Download our holiday mail insert
❄ Print out our brief mail insert to include in your holiday cards. Share with friends and family how you support SBP and how they can help too.
❄ Pass out the insert at any of your holiday events or gatherings to spread awareness of our work and the families we are supporting.
❄ SBP Holiday Parties:
❄ Raise money for a home at your office holiday party
❄ Host a party at your house
❄ Consider sponsoring another event and sending proceeds to SBP
❄ Contact Ashley Bellant or Angela Russell in our Development office for more information and tips on hosting an event.
❄ Post a Facebook status and tweet about SBP’s Home for the Holidays campaign:

❄ Build your own online fundraising page to benefit SBP:
❄ Write about why you support SBP, upload photos or language SBP can provide to set up a fundraising webpage on Firstgiving.com. Set a goal, send out the link to family and friends and start counting the returns!
❄ Look at this example First Giving fundraising page by an SBP supporter! You can be creative and make your goal as small or big as you want. Email us for more information or with questions at holidays@stbernardproject.org
You can also shop online to help raise money for SBP:
❄ Do your online shopping through GoodShop.com and up to 30% of online purchases from dozens of sites can benefit SBP! This includes sites like Amazon, Walmart, Best Buy, and Toys “R” US. Simply go to goodshop.com to sign up, select SBP as your charity of choice, then connect to your favorite online shopping site.
❄ Purchase a gift through the Do Good Feel Good website. In their Shop for a Cause program, a percentage of each home-made, home-spun, or fair trade purchase will benefit SBP.
❄ Buy a friend or relative one of these beautiful hand-painted parasols designed by a former SBP volunteer. A portion of the sale of any parasol with a Fleur-de-lis design will go to SBP!
❄ Give someone on your holiday list a colorful and fashionable FlexWatch. The orange watch represents SBP, and 10% of the proceeds from the sale of any color watch here goes to SBP.
❄ Buy the book lover on your holiday list “Never Clean Your House During Hurricane Season” by Modine Gunch, and creator Liz Scott Monhaghan will donate a portion of the proceeds to SBP. And if you use goodshop.com as listed above to connect to amazon.com to buy the book, even more dollars will help rebuild homes in New Orleans!
❄ Show your love for New Orleans with a Fleur De Lis Bracelet from Sarah Ott. 10% of each sale benefits SBP.
❄ Purchase SBP merchandise on our website to wear SBP’s cause on your sleeve!
