Thank you for your interest in donating to the St. Bernard Project (SBP). With more than 60 families on our waiting list and five to 15 new applications each week, your help is needed now more than ever!

Individual/Small Group Donations

The St. Bernard Project, a registered 501(c)(3) organization, recognizes that 60% of our budget is provided by former volunteers. We appreciate your constant support and are grateful for your tax-deductible donation. In an effort to be good stewards of your generosity, SBP uses less than 6% of our budget on administrative or indirect costs. This allows the majority of your donations to go where they are most needed -- into rebuilding homes for St. Bernard Parish families. Thank you for helping us change the lives of families on a daily basis.

Recurring Donations

The St. Bernard Project is conscientious of the current economic uncertainty and aware that many Americans want to assist but are operating on a tighter budget. Don't let this stop you from helping solve the enduring housing need in St. Bernard Parish. Using the "recurring donation" method, you can donate a small amount monthly, and not feel any effects on your disposable income. Every penny matters in rebuilding the homes and lives of the deserving residents of St. Bernard Parish.

The St. Bernard Project has a number of amazing corporate partners.If your company is interested in contributing to the St. Bernard Project in a significant way (many of our corporate partners have contributed value in the range of hundreds of thousands of dollars) we would love to hear from you. Whether by donating a percentage of revenue or profits, contributing technology or services, providing volunteers, or offering ongoing access to your staff or expertise, we would love to discuss ways to partner with your company. If you want to help the St. Bernard Project, by donating tools and supplies, please visit our needed tools and supplies wish list (click Amazon.com button below). Because of your generous purchase, SBP will have more available funds to meet the needs of the more than 60 families on our waiting list.

Can I designate my funds to a specific family or program?
Yes! You can indicate which program or family you would like to support on the online form or in the memo line of your check.

Is my donation tax-deductible?
Yes! The St. Bernard Project is registered 501(c)(3) organization and all donations are tax-deductible. For more information, please tax to your accountant or tax advisor.

How much does it cost to rebuild a house?
It costs approximately $12,000 to rebuild a house.

$10 donation buys one box of nails (for you and me, it's parking in a downtown parking garage)
$50 donation buys a low flow toilet (for you and me, it's 5 iTunes CDs)
$100 donation buys a kitchen sink (for you and me, it's an iPod Nano)
$250 donation buys front and back doors (for you and me, it's 2 months of lattes)
$500 donation buys siding (for you and me, it's one car payment)
$1,000 donation buys drywall (for you and me, it's one month's rent or "partial rent")

What percentage of St. Bernard Project’s budget goes towards administrative or indirect costs?
The St. Bernard Project runs lean. Less than 5% of our annual budget goes towards administrative or indirect costs.
