Donate and Help Rebuild New Orleans

Thank you for your interest in donating to the St. Bernard Project (SBP). With more than 40 families on our waiting list and five to ten new applications each week, we need your help now more than ever!

Individual/Small Group Donations

The St. Bernard Project, a registered 501(c)(3) organization, is pleased that former volunteers provide 60 percent of our budget. We appreciate your support and are grateful for your tax-deductible donations. In an effort to be good stewards of your generosity, SBP uses less than 6 percent of our budget on administrative or “overhead” costs. This allows the majority of your donations to go where they are most needed -- into rebuilding homes for families in St. Bernard and New Orleans. Thank you for helping us change the lives of families on a daily basis.

If you donate in honor of someone and would like him or her to receive a notification, please include his or her address.

Recurring Donations

SBP is aware of the current economic uncertainty and knows that many Americans want to contribute but are operating on a tight budget. Don't let this stop you from helping solve the enduring housing need in the New Orleans area. Using the "recurring donation" method, you can donate a small amount monthly or quarterly, and not feel an effect on your disposable income. Every penny counts in rebuilding the homes and lives of the deserving residents of St. Bernard and New Orleans.

Host a Fundraiser

As you return to your home community, we hope you’ll continue your commitment rebuilding, and to the people of New Orleans. We invite you to engage in one or more of these fundraising/awareness activities.

Major Grants

If you are a foundation representative and believe the SBP would fit well with your organization’s charitable giving, we would love to hear from you. Please contact one of SBP’s co-directors –Liz McCartney or Zack Rosenberg

Corporate Gifts

Corporate partners are vital assets to the St. Bernard Project. Not only do they have the means to help us maintain our low-cost rebuilding model and Center for Wellness and Mental Health, they also provide expertise in sustainable business practices that help keep SBP on the cutting-edge. If your company would like to make a gift or become involved with SBP, please contact our development department.

Tools and Supplies Donations

Imperfect measurements, improperly hung drywall, doors without knobs… all of these problems can be fixed with simple tools and supplies. Without them, our work suffers and fewer clients are able to return home. If you wish to help SBP move forward by donating tools and supplies, visit our amazon.com wish list. Or donate that drill or saw you promised yourself you would start using to SBP.
