When Brian Grosch watched the CNN Heroes award show in November, he knew he needed to respond in his own way.
Impressed with the overall mission of the St. Bernard Project, Grosch saw that co-founders Liz and Zack had realized the need of the area and responded appropriately. He said the rest of the U.S. didn’t realize how much help the Parish still needed.
“No entire county has been devastated the way St. Bernard Parish has been,” Grosch said. “If it wasn’t for [the St. Bernard Project], we wouldn’t be to the point we are now.”
As the founder and president of AllFax Specialties, Inc., an office equipment business based in Louisiana, Grosch saw an opportunity to support a worthy organization, as he has done in the past through sponsorship of several charities supporting terminally ill children. Grosch, who lives in the Parish in Delacroix, approached Liz to sponsor SBP in a big way.
To date, Grosch and AllFax have donated the money to sponsor an entire house (with the only stipulation being that the benefiting family have children), Home Depot gift cards, an air compressor and nail gun. He plans to stay involved with SBP by donating office equipment, getting employees involved, and, most importantly, getting out the St. Bernard Project name, which he said had not received enough recognition.
“I want to ensure that the region is kept in the national spotlight,” Grosch said.
He and AllFax are doing just that through their exceptional commitment to SBP.
