The hard-working families of the New Orleans area need our ongoing support as they struggle to regain normalcy in their lives. As you re-enter your own community, we invite you to continue to serve the needs of the people in the New Orleans area, including the 1,000 families still living in FEMA trailers. With your continued support, the St. Bernard Project can raise the funds and recruit the volunteers necessary to continue and expand our commitment to restoring homes and rebuilding lives.
People want to be a part of the solution, but they cannot help if they don’t know problems exist. The number one reason people do not donate is because they haven’t been asked. Please consider the different dimensions of your life: businesses, faith-based communities, civic groups, alumni organizations, family foundations, matching gift programs, labor unions, schools, and any other group or individual who should hear the story of the St. Bernard Project. By reaching out to others, you can multiply many times over your already significant contribution to rebuilding.
To help you in your effort, please use the "toolbox" to the right, which we hope will equip you with the resources to initiate contact with the people around you. If you have questions about reaching out to others for support, we would love to provide you with any assistance you may require.
If you are not comfortable doing direct outreach, there are other ways you can help! You might consider writing an article for your company newsletter, local newspaper, or high school/college alumni magazine. You can also provide our development office with leads on groups to which you are connected. Perhaps you might even be able to connect members of our staff with your friends/associates via email introductions or phone calls. Or simply provide us with contact information so that we can do direct outreach. Know that every gesture you make will help another family get home.
